Reelmagic, the IFI’s practical filmmaking course for children and young people, returned this summer with an exciting script to screen programme. Aimed at younger filmmakers, Reelmagic is a fun, active course which encourages participants to develop practical filmmaking skills and take on different roles behind and in front of the camera.
Working with professional filmmaker, Baz Al-Rawi, and facilitator, Dee Quinlan, participants created a short film from start to finish. Young filmmakers between the ages of 9 and 14 years old participated and made two excellent films, Nerd Showdown (9-11 yrs) and Troubled Visions (12-14 yrs). See below for photographs from the courses and the excellent films they produced.
