She's a boy I knew

The most compelling DIY, gender-bending, feelgood film directed by a transsexual lesbian you’ll see all year.

She’s a Boy I Knew is fresh, original and exceptional in its ability to educate and entertain. Within the confines of a young, hip, heterosexual marriage, the filmmaker transitions from Steven to Gwen Haworth. He sensitively captures what it means for him, for his irrepressibly empathetic wife Malgosia, and for his family, through interviews, archival family film and even a little bit of animation. This is a beautifully realised autobiographical film for those who liked last year’s Red Without Blue or Tarnation.
